Removals across
the Garden of England.
Kent is a big county and it does not move like one place. A Sevenoaks commuter house, a Medway terrace, an oast conversion down a Wealden lane and a seafront flat in Margate are four different jobs. We cover all of them, and we plan each one for what it actually is.
County-wide
All of Kent, one firm
West Kent to Thanet, the Medway towns to the Weald. No district is a detour.
Up-country
Long-distance planned
Kent to London is routine; Kent to the North is a different job and gets crewed as one.
Period property
Oasts, lanes and steps
Wealden access and coastal gradients decide the vehicle. We ask before we quote.
The Channel
Gateway to Europe
Dover and the Eurotunnel are in this county — a genuine advantage on a European move.

Across all of Kent —
and out of it.
Kent packs an unusual amount into one county. The commuter belt around Sevenoaks and Tonbridge behaves like outer London. The Medway towns are dense, historic and busy. The Weald is farmhouses and oast conversions down lanes that were never widened. The coast runs from Victorian seafront terraces at Margate to the cliffs above Dover.
No single firm covers that well by accident. What makes it workable is asking the right question early — not "which town", but "what does the last two hundred metres look like". A lane with high banks, a seafront with forty steps, or a new-build estate with a barrier are three completely different problems.
The other half of the work points outward. Kent sits on the M20, M2, M25, A2 and A20, and a great many moves here are people leaving for London or the rest of the country — or arriving from them. Those get planned as long-distance runs rather than local jobs with a long tail.
Lanes and access
Wealden approaches decide the vehicle before the volume does. We ask about the last stretch, not just the postcode.
Period property
Oast houses, Georgian townhouses and Victorian coastal villas. More protection, and the big pieces routed before anything moves.
Coastal and seasonal
Steps, gradients, and parking that disappears in August. An early start is worth more here than anywhere else in the county.
The motorway county
M20, M2, M25, A2 and A20. Good for long-distance work, and the reason Kent moves out of the county so often.
The seven Kents
How we actually think about the county when planning a move — by the kind of property and access, rather than by district boundary.
West Kent & the commuter belt
Sevenoaks · Tonbridge · Royal Tunbridge Wells · Westerham · Edenbridge
Period and Wealden property, oast conversions, and a lot of London-facing moves in both directions.
North Kent & the Thames corridor
Dartford · Gravesend · Swanscombe · Northfleet · Longfield
The A2 and M25 belt. New-build estates alongside older terraces, and the easiest access in the county.
The Medway towns
Chatham · Gillingham · Rochester · Strood · Rainham
Dense, historic and busy. Naval heritage housing, Victorian terraces and a large rental market.
Mid Kent & the county town
Maidstone · Aylesford · Bearsted · Headcorn · Staplehurst · Lenham
The administrative centre, the M20 corridor, and the villages spreading into the Weald behind it.
The Weald & the Garden of England
Cranbrook · Tenterden · Goudhurst · Biddenden · Hawkhurst
Oast houses, farmhouses, narrow lanes and long driveways. The part of Kent that decides which van we send.
East Kent & Canterbury
Canterbury · Ashford · Faversham · Sittingbourne · Whitstable
Cathedral city, university terms, market towns and the high-speed line to London.
The coast & the Channel
Dover · Folkestone · Margate · Ramsgate · Broadstairs · Deal · Hythe
The Gateway to Europe — and coastal property with steps, gradients and summer parking to plan around.
Town specialists
Several Kent towns have their own dedicated firm in this network — Maidstone, Canterbury, the Medway towns, Dover, Folkestone, Tunbridge Wells, Dartford, Sevenoaks and more. For a short move entirely inside one of those towns they will often know your street better than we do, and we will say so. Where we cover sets out which is which.
The Channel is in this county.
Dover and the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone are both inside Kent, which makes a European move from here structurally easier than from anywhere else in Britain. The domestic leg — usually the expensive, tiring part — barely exists.
We handle the Kent end of those moves: the survey, the export-standard packing, and getting a properly prepared load to the crossing.
Country routes
Individual Kent-to-country routes — France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and six more — are handled by a dedicated sibling firm in this network that runs those corridors and holds the destination relationships.
We would rather point you at them than duplicate work they already do properly. Ask us and we will make the introduction.
Questions we get asked
Do you really cover the whole county?
Yes — west Kent to Thanet, the Thames corridor to the Weald, the Medway towns to the coast. Kent is large and varied enough that a firm covering only one corner of it will treat the rest as a detour, and it shows in the quote. We work all of it.
Our house is down a Wealden lane. Will a lorry get there?
Sometimes, and it is the first thing we ask about rather than the last. Plenty of Kent property sits at the end of a single-track lane with high banks, an overhanging oak and no turning circle, and a full-size removal lorry that fits on the map does not necessarily fit on the approach. Where it will not, we shuttle with a smaller vehicle. That costs time, which we price honestly rather than discover on the morning.
How is the quote worked out?
Volume, distance and access. How much is going, how far it is travelling, and what the load-in and load-out involve — lanes, stairs, parking, steps down to a coastal property. For anything past a small flat we survey first, usually by video. The figure goes to you in writing before you commit.
Do you move people out of Kent as well as around it?
A large part of what we do. Kent to London is routine and short. Kent to the Midlands, the North or the West Country is a genuinely different job — driving hours, loading order, sometimes loading one day and unloading the next. We plan those as long-distance runs from the start. See long-distance removals.
What about moving abroad?
Kent is the departure county for the Channel — Dover and the Eurotunnel are both here — which is a real advantage on a European move rather than a slogan. Our moving to Europe page explains how it works and who in the network handles the individual country routes.

Both addresses, roughly what is going, and how firm your date is. That is enough for us to survey it and put a figure in writing.
