Who we are
Kent Removals operates kent-removals.com and provides removals services across Kent, the rest of the UK, and the Kent end of moves into Europe. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact hello@kent-removals.com.
What the quote form collects
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The pickup address
- The drop-off address
- Your moving date, if you give one
- Anything you write in the notes field
We also receive standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited — through analytics and anti-spam tooling.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, survey and price the move, carry it out if you book, and keep records of completed work. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business.
Referrals within the network
Where we think another firm is better placed — a town specialist for a short local move, or the corridor firm for a European route — we will tell you who they are. We do not pass your details on without asking you first. If you would like us to make an introduction directly, say so and we will share only what is needed to do it.
Storage and European moves
Where goods go into storage, we retain the inventory for as long as the goods are held and afterwards for accounting and insurance purposes. Where a move continues into Europe, information required for customs — typically your name, both addresses, identification or tax numbers you have supplied, and the inventory — is shared with customs agents, carriers and the destination partner. That sharing is unavoidable if goods are to cross a border.
Who else sees it
Our staff and the systems we use to manage enquiries and jobs. We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to unrelated companies for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics to understand how pages are used, and Google reCAPTCHA to keep automated submissions off the quote form. Both set their own cookies under Google's terms. Content pages carry no other third-party tracking.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while commercially useful and then deleted. Records of completed moves are kept as long as needed for accounting, insurance and legal purposes — longer where customs records must be retained.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict that use. Email hello@kent-removals.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page.
