Kent Removals
Small moves

Man and van, anywhere in Kent.

A room, a studio, a part load, one thing that will not fit in a car. Quick jobs across a county that is bigger than people remember — which is why the postcode matters as much as the contents.

Not every move needs a lorry and four people. A lot of what happens across Kent is smaller: a room out of a shared house in Canterbury, a studio in Maidstone changing hands, a wardrobe bought in Ashford that will not go in the back of an estate.

What people book it for

  • A studio or small one-bed flat, start to finish
  • A single room out of a shared house
  • Student moves — heaviest around the Canterbury terms
  • One large awkward item: a sofa, wardrobe, mattress, American fridge
  • Retail, trade-counter and private-seller collections
  • Part loads sharing a van with another job on the same route
  • The last of it, after the main removal has gone
  • Runs into and out of storage

Distance matters more here

Kent is around seventy miles across. A "small job" from Dartford to Deal is a different proposition from one across Maidstone, and any firm quoting the two the same is guessing on one of them.

So we ask for both actual addresses rather than just a town. It also means a part load sharing a vehicle already heading your way is often better value than a dedicated van — ask what is going your direction.

The three questions that set the price

Which floor, at both ends. What the heaviest item is. And where the van can legally stand — or, in rural Kent, whether it can reach the door at all. Those three settle a small job faster than any amount of description.

If it is easier to show than describe, send four photos. Nobody estimates their own pile accurately.

Outgrown it? Flat removals or house removals. Small load going a long way? Long-distance removals.

Man and van questions

One man or two?

Decided by the heaviest item and the stairs, not the number of boxes. A desk and some bags is one. A sofa bed off a Medway top floor is not, and sending one person would waste the morning.

Do you do student moves?

Yes — Canterbury especially, where the university terms drive a predictable rush at the start and end of each one. Halls to a shared house, house to house, or home for the summer. Book earlier than feels necessary around those dates.

Can you collect from a shop or seller?

Yes. Furniture retailers, trade counters, the retail parks along the M20 and M2, or a private seller two villages away. If there is a collection window or reference, put it in the notes so the run is built around it.

Will you come out to a village?

We will, and rural Kent is a decent share of this work. What we ask is the same question as on a full removal — what the last stretch of lane looks like — because a small van still has to get down it and turn round.

When is it the wrong service?

Once you are past a small one-bed. Doing a house in van-loads costs more in hours than a proper removal does, and we will say so rather than take the booking and let it drag into the evening.

Both addresses, the floor at each end, and the heaviest item. That is usually all we need.
